In 2015, three Pasadena ISD schools chose to participate in a national, landmark personalized learning basecamp program in partnership with Summit Public Schools and Facebook. The process began a few years ago with two $100,000 grants from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Carter Lomax Middle, Thompson Intermediate and Dobie High, were chosen to join 19 total schools across the nation to participate. In the 2016-2017 school year the program expanded to include our school, Nelda Sullivan Middle School, and we were so excited to offer a percentage of our students the opportunity for personalized learning that met them where they were! Students who participated enjoyed phenomenal growth in all learning areas. As a result, we have decided that beginning this year, the 2017-18 school year, 100% of the students at Nelda Sullivan Middle School will be participating in the Connect program. This is now the way that every student at Sullivan will learn! We look forward to a year of growth and excitement!
